About us and Welcome
Moongala Women's Community House was established in 1980. Located in Bentleigh East, we are a not-for-profit community-based organisation offering a range of low-cost educational & general interest classes, self-help & friendship and support groups.
Moongala operates as a Collective – membership is available and participation is encouraged.
Our philosophy of “caring through sharing” means that you will always feel welcome and valued. Feel free to drop in and meet us!
We would like to acknowledge funding received from our funding bodies: Southern Metropolitan Regional Council of Adult, Community Further Education (ACFE), the City of Glen Eira and the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH).
Special thanks to Bendigo Bank Murrumbeena, Directors and staff for financially supporting some of our programs and funding a defibrillator and more recently substantial funding to support our organisation with our efforts to support and service the community. Dennis Tarrant has been instrumental in ensuring local community organisations continue to be supported by this wonderful community bank.
We have also received generous support for a number of years from Yarra Yarra Golf Club Women's Committee - their support has enabled us to offer more programs to engage our community and we are very grateful for their support.
We have serviced many women and their families over our 44 years operating in East Bentleigh through our Collective, enabling women to connect, belong, learn and have a sense of ownership at Moongala. Many have become very involved in our activities and projects, learnt new skills, gained the confidence to study and pursue careers and be vital members of their community.
