Volunteering

Volunteer at Moongala

Volunteers are an integral part of our organisation and give so much of their time to us and the community. Without their dedicated contribution Moongala could not operate as we do!  Over the years we have been fortunate to work with so many wonderful people who love to contribute to their community - many have stayed with us for years and others have been able to use their skills to help secure them employment elsewhere.

We took great pride in honouring many of our Spinners Group who were awarded Volunteer Recognition Certficates from Mayor Cr Jim Magee for their many years of volunteer service to their community!

Gretta, Iris, Julie, Joy, Lou and Luci all received their awards for 30 years of volunteering, Faina and Roslyn for 20 years, and Helen, Maree and Marie for 1000 hours each.

These wonderful women have all contributed to knitting beanies for both the homeless and for the prem babies in the neo-natal unit at Sunshine Hospital, crocheted hearts for our Heart to Heart Project and many knits for wildlife causes in the community. They also received many awards for their involvement with Seniors Week in the city, with both displaying their work as well as demonstrating for the general public. We are so proud to have them all meeting at Moongala each week!
